City Daily Photo's theme for the first day of September is Library. Here's our contribution: It is said, "Those that forget the past are doomed to repeat it" and we would add "doomed to destroy it". The original Buffalo Public Library building designed by Cyrus Eidlitz stood where the existing library now is. The 1887 Romanesque masterpiece survived until the 1960s when it was demolished for replacement by the modern nightmare that haunts us to this day. A castle replaced by a bus terminal. Way to go... no kick backs involved in that deal. https://www.buffalolib.org/
